How to get there

  1. 1
    Andratx

From Andratx in the direction of Estellencs on the Ma-10 you must turn off on a dirt path past the two road tunnels. This path has a sign "camí de sa Torre Nova" and is a few meters to our left in the direction of Estellencs.

  2. 2
    Estellencs

If we head from Estellencs towards Andratx it will be difficult to take this path because the turn is very tight, but after passing the two tunnels, on our left (in the direction of Andratx) we will see a side of the road at a bend where we can leave the vehicle parked. There is only room for about 4/5 cars. Then walk along the road to "cámí de sa Torre Nova" which we will leave behind.

  3. 3
    Camí de sa Torre Nova

The first five meters of this path is very steep, it is dirt and very narrow, but when we pass it we will turn to our left very carefully because there are large rocks, we will be able to park the vehicle on an embankment that is clearly visible.

  4. 4
    path

Behind the embankment, be careful because there is a cliff, we can get close and see the views of the bay of Cala de ses Ortigues. We will continue the trail already walking. At the beginning it is the path that leads to the Torre Nova, but after a few meters we have to turn to another path that goes down the slope. It is the trail that we will see on our left.

  5. 5
    Circular base of collapsed building

This trail leads to some private land, so we will not stray from the path. We will reach a metal gate with a step on one side for hikers. When we pass it we will look for a collapsed circular building; nearby is a wooden picnic table. A few meters away we will see a staircase that will take us to Cala de ses Ortigues.

  6. 6
    ladder

The staircase is old: it is a path with some logs to facilitate the descent. It also has other trunks that look like they were going to hold some kind of metal net but there is none. Watch out because some poles are made of iron and very low, barely a foot of ground.

  7. 7
    Coast between rocks

By this ladder we will reach the sea, there is a quay house on the right. Those who want to reach the central area of the cove will have to coast between rocks to the left for about 400 meters. It's slippery The dry area is close to the cliff and we will have to avoid some rocks that look like they are going to fall into the sea.
