The beach

Cala Vella is the only proper cove in the whole area. There are swimming areas closer to Maioris even with sand, but this one in particular is protected and we will be able to see more boats than in the rest of the place. The easiest access is from the urbanization of Maioris and then you have to walk along a path for about 20 minutes.

Notes

It is advisable to wear well-fitting shoes for the walk, especially for the last meters of access to the cove. Protected site, fishing prohibited. Access is by a stone and rock path until the last stretch where it is already confused with the rocks and you need two hands to access on foot. We recommend not to bring very small children or to be very careful when accessing.

How to get there

  1. 1
    From Palma

Exit towards Cala Blava-Cala Pi on the Ma-6014 road. Take the first entrance towards Maioris.

  2. 2
    majors

Already at the first entrance to Maioris we have to go straight along this street. We will pass through a very large roundabout, we must continue straight. Then we will pass through a small park in a triangular shape: we also have to pass so that we go straight towards the sea.

  3. 3
    parking lot

At the end of this street there is a pedestrian section: it is a viewpoint. We park right here and approach the viewpoint. On the left hand side is the Delta, in front of Maioris, we have to go down the stairs and look for a wide path on the right hand side along which we will continue.

  4. 4
    path

This trail has two rocks with painted green arrows, but we will only see them on the way back, going down the stairs they are not visible. Well, we will follow this path for 10 minutes at a good pace or 20 at a slow pace. It's an easy trail with many other trails going down into the rock area.

  5. 5
    Get to the cove

We will even pass by a beautiful square coastal area where there is sand, but it is still not Cala Vella. We will see our cove from the front, it is a proper cove: on both sides there are rocks and it is a little more protected than the rest of the coastal area. Warning at the entrance of the cove, you need to help yourself between the rocks with both hands.
